Credentials

Thank you for visiting my website and considering me as your Mediator. I appreciate you wanting to know more about me, as your Mediator, as well as the Mediation process.

All clients are Lawyers representing either Plaintiffs or Defendants. I do not mediate with unrepresented parties. Some Mediations are pre-litigation, but most involve cases in which suit has already been filed.

I will strive to mediate your case efficiently and effectively, while empowering you to resolve the case in a manner which best fits your needs.

I am a Registered Neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and have mediated and/or arbitrated more than 4,200 cases involving wrongful death and catastrophic and serious injury, over the last 38 years.

I am a recognized member of The National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and The Georgia Academy of Mediators & Arbitrators, as well as, having been honored as a SUPER LAWYER 2013 through 2023 and one of GEORGIA’S TOP RATED LAWYERS 2012 through 2023; Rated “AV PREEMINENT” and AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell for 28 years (1995-2023) for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability.

It is my goal in every Mediation, to resolve the case quickly, efficiently, and satisfactorily for all parties concerned. I want you to have all of the information which you need to make an intelligent decision for you and to have control over your own future.

Mediation is a profession, which I believe to be my “Calling”. That may sound a little strange, however, I believe that I am in the exact position today where I need to be and where I am “meant” to be. Let me explain.

While I have been an Attorney for more than 44 years, I have been in the “Resolution” business for over 50 years. In the 1970’s, I was a Claims Adjuster for two major insurance companies and I always felt that it was my goal to resolve every claim that came across my desk. I tried to achieve that goal fairly and reasonably with the claimant and/or their Attorney. Sure, some cases could not be resolved for variety of reasons, however, I did settle more cases than any other Adjuster in our office and I believe that every settlement was fair to my company, as well as fair to the claimant.

When I left the insurance claims business I worked as a Defense Lawyer for a local hospital. I then changed hats again and dedicated my practice to representing victims injured because of the negligence of others.

As a Professional Claims Adjuster, Claims Supervisor, Defense Attorney and Plaintiff Attorney, I have handled all types of personal injury claims involving Motor Vehicles, Premises, Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home negligence, I have brought with me to my Mediation practice an ability to help others resolve their cases quickly and fairly, when appropriate.

As a Trial Lawyer, I saw the excessive amount of time spent on cases and all party’s delay in achieving their ultimate “justice”. I handled cases, which were appealed to the Court of Appeals before the case was tried before a jury, and cases that were appealed after the case was decided by the jury. Throughout these cases, I observed the mounting expenses of litigation, along with the inconvenience of delay and the individual risks of each party associated with litigation and a trial by a jury. My experience tells me that juries do what juries do, and no one knows what the jury is going to do until they have already done it, and, at that time, everyone sits back and scratches their heads, wondering “what in the world was the jury thinking”! Truly, turning a case over to a jury can be very risky for every party.

I began my Mediation career with United States Arbitration & Mediation, was recruited away by Arbitration Forums, and then became a founding Mediator at Henning Mediation & Arbitration. After many years at Henning, I felt a change was needed and moved to BAY Mediation to help build the successful Mediation and Arbitration business that it has now become.

I have now been a Mediator for more than 38 years, having assisted thousands of Plaintiffs and Defendants in resolving their cases fairly, quickly, and inexpensively, while allowing the parties to have the autonomy of self-direction in their own decision-making.

Helping the parties to bring closure to their cases is a very important part of what I do. When I see the relief all participants experience as they leave a resolved Mediation, I know that helping others truly is my “Calling”.

If you have a case, whether in litigation or not, please give me a call. I would be glad help you bring your case to a conclusion. Even if a case does not resolve at the Mediation, much can be achieved to clarify the issues, in hopes of possibly advancing the parties toward a resolution in the near future.

If you have any other questions, please view the other pages of my website, including my E-books.

Thank you again for viewing my website. I hope that I can help you next time you need a Mediator.
